Know what your policy actually covers.
Etinzo Tech offers Auto, Health and Life insurance. We lay out the parts of each policy in plain terms: what the coverage includes, what affects the cost and which details deserve a closer look before you decide.
The price you see first isn't the only number to check.
The recurring premium is the most visible figure on a quote. Depending on the policy, several other amounts decide what you could actually pay.
Premium
What you pay, monthly or yearly, to keep the coverage in force.
Deductible
An amount you may pay yourself before certain coverage starts paying.
Coverage limit
The maximum the policy will pay under a specified coverage.
Out-of-pocket
What you pay for covered care yourself. Especially relevant for health plans.
Two options. Same coverage type. Different split.
Markers show relative position on each scale, not real prices.
OPT.1 READS ASLower cost to keep the policy, more to pay yourself before certain coverage applies.
OPT.2 READS ASHigher cost to keep the policy, less to pay yourself before certain coverage applies.
Neither option is better by default. What matters depends on the coverage, the policy terms and your circumstances, such as how much you could comfortably pay if you needed to use it.
Auto
Auto insurance has several moving parts.
The words on an auto policy are not synonyms. Each one points to a different responsibility and a different kind of financial exposure.
Liability coverage
Relates to covered injury or property damage to others for which the insured is legally responsible, subject to policy terms and limits.
Comprehensive coverage
May address certain covered losses that are not collisions, such as theft or specified weather-related damage, depending on the policy.
Collision coverage
May help with covered damage to the insured vehicle resulting from a collision, subject to the policy and the deductible.
Deductible
The amount that can apply before certain vehicle coverage pays. Collision and comprehensive deductibles may be set separately.
NoteAvailable protections, limits and terms vary by policy. Not every auto policy includes every coverage shown.
Two health plans can look similar until you read the next line.

What each line changes
- Premium: what you pay each month to keep the plan.
- Deductible: what you pay for covered care before the plan shares many costs.
- Network: which providers count as in-network, which affects your cost.
- Copay / coinsurance: a set amount per service, or a percentage you share.
- Out-of-pocket max: the most you pay for covered in-network care in a plan year.
Read each line across both examples. Comparable premiums can split costs very differently once care is actually used.

- Out-of-pocket maxLower
A monthly premium tells you what coverage costs to maintain. It does not tell you the entire potential cost of using it.
The policy name doesn't tell you everything inside it.
Policies in the same broad category can differ in four places that are easy to skip. Check each one instead of assuming the label explains the coverage.
Limits
How much a specified coverage can pay. A limit can apply per person, per incident or per policy period. Amounts above it may remain your responsibility.
Exclusions
Circumstances or losses the policy does not cover. Exclusions usually have their own part of the document and are worth reading line by line.
Limits and exclusions set the outer edges of a policy: how far it reaches and where it stops.
Two policies with the same name can draw those edges in different places.
Deductibles
The amount that may remain your responsibility before certain coverage applies. Different coverages in one policy can carry different deductibles.
Conditions
Requirements that can affect how coverage applies, such as reporting a loss within a stated time or keeping policy information accurate.

Both statements are true. After the same incident, these two people could face very different outcomes.
Start with the numbers someone else could be left to handle.
A useful starting point is not a round number. It is the set of responsibilities that would continue if your income stopped, and how long each one would last.
What to list first
- 01Income that supports other peopleEarnings a partner, children or others rely on day to day.
- 02Mortgage or other significant debtsBalances that would still need paying.
- 03Dependents and household expensesHousing, food, childcare and other ongoing costs.
- 04Education and longer-term commitmentsCosts that may start later and run for a set period.
- 05How long they are expected to continueThe point where the longest responsibility ends.
Coverage amount
How much the policy would pay. It relates to the size of the responsibilities stacked above.
Policy duration
How long coverage lasts. It relates to where the red line falls: when the longest responsibility ends.
Two separate choices. Weigh both against the actual policy and your own circumstances. There is no universal figure.
Compare like with like.
Two premiums side by side only show which policy costs less to keep. A meaningful comparison lines up the same details on both first. Tick each line once you have confirmed it.
Put the details next to each other. Then decide what deserves your attention.
Auto, Health and Life insurance, organized so each detail is easy to read and compare.
